A brilliant opening game from the boys. During the first quarter the boys were holding their own against a good team that had previously beaten us in a friendly match. Jack made some good runs & linked up well with Dan. Morgan was a rock in defence & cleared the ball away from goal to start our attacks. Ben made some good saves in goal & some good long goal kicks but just after the 5min mark Future Stars got a corner & scored (1-0). Sam made some good passes from the centre kick & Harvey & Finlay linked up well between defence & midfield. Second quarter & straight from the whistle Jack made a good run & shot on goal. Dans throw-ins were amazing. Harry & Cameron were strong in defence clearing the ball away from goal & if they weren't their then Finlay made some good saves in goal. Future Stars got another corner & although it was cleared away by Harry, Future Stars got their second goal (2-0). Harry, Jack & Morgan linked up well to set Dan up who took his chance well & steered the ball into the back of the net to score a good goal for the Sharks (2-1). Third quarter & unfortunately Future Stars scored a quick goal (3-1). Captain Jack kept his boys going & reminded them to keep defending. Finlay, Morgan & Adam kept strong in defence & Luke made some good challanges and some good running. A good goal kick by Ben set Dan & Jack off down the pitch, a precise pass from Dan gave Jack his chance to slot his first goal into the back of the net (3-2). Fourth quarter & the boys boys were up for the battle & looking to score 2 more goals. Finlay made some outstanding saves to keep our boys in the game & Ben came close to scoring, but our chance came after another good save from Finlay, he passed the ball to Sam who knocked the ball to Jack & from the half way line Jack looped the ball over all the players & into the top corner (3-3) & a candidate for goal of the season all ready. A brilliant come back by the boys who all played their part. Man Of The Match was awarded to Finlay for his great saves in goal.
